Calvert County ERAP

Behind on rent or utilities? Facing eviction or shut-offs? Need financial assistance with your move?
You’re not alone. Local help is available.


Calvert County Government is processing applications for the Maryland Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) which provides temporary rental and utility assistance for eligible renters whose income has or expenses have been impacted by COVID-19. This emergency assistance is to prevent evictions and utility turn-offs, and is subject to funding availability. Each household is eligible for up to 15 months of total assistance under the ERAP.

Funding is available for eligible households for:
• Up to 12 months of overdue rent – going back to March 13, 2020
• Up to 12 months of overdue utility or home energy costs – going back to March 13, 2020
• Up to 3 months of current or future months’ rent at a time
• Up to 3 months of current or future months’ utility costs at a time

A staff member from Southern Maryland Tri-County Community Action Committee or LifeStyles of Maryland, Inc. will reach out to you within three business days of completing the screening to finalize the application process.
